Worried about starting the IB?

Most students walk into DP1 Maths in September feeling behind before they've begun. The IB assumes you've already mastered a chunk of your GCSE / iGCSE / MYP5 content — and it doesn't stop to reteach it. €20 unlocks the 6-week PreIB Bridging Programme — worked examples, practice questions, end-of-week self-marked assessments and a live IB-readiness bar. A separate, fuller PreIB Year 11 (Grade 10) Course (€49/student) is launching later in 2026.

€20 one-off — VAT included

🕒 Full access until 28 August 2026 — no auto-renewal

Want to be prepared for success?

The PreIB Bridging Programme tackles the four most common gaps DP1 students report in their first month.

1

Algebra you thought you knew

Quadratics, indices, straight lines. In DP1 they come at speed with no revision. Get fluent now.

2

Your CG50 is a black box

SL AI and HL AI students, this is you. Learn every menu you'll use before you're graded on it.

3

Problem-solving under time

The IB rewards mathematical thinking, not memorised methods. Practise the mindset now.

4

Written maths & notation

IB expects a specific style of workings — set out logically, with justified steps. You'll get feedback on yours.

3 of the hardest questions — one per stream

A taster of the difficulty inside the PreIB Bridging Programme — 6 structured weeks of worked examples, practice questions, weekly self-marked assessments and a live IB-readiness bar. Full unlock: €20 one-off. (A separate €49 PreIB Year 11 (Grade 10) Course is launching later in 2026.)

CG50 basics — Run-Matrix menu · 7 marks · hard
A courier driver's daily earnings are calculated based on a fixed daily rate, plus a variable rate per delivery. On a particular day:
  • A fixed daily rate of $20 is paid.
  • Deliveries within a 5 km radius pay $4.20 each.
  • Deliveries beyond a 5 km radius pay $6.50 each.
The driver's vehicle has a fuel efficiency of 1 litre per 12 km, and fuel costs $2.10 per litre. On Tuesday, the driver completed:
  • 15 deliveries, each within a 5 km radius (average distance per delivery: 3.5 km).
  • 8 deliveries, each beyond a 5 km radius (average distance per delivery: 7.2 km).

Use the Run-Matrix menu on your Casio CG50 calculator to perform the following calculations. Show your workings clearly by writing down the expression you entered into the calculator for each step.

(a) Calculate the total amount earned from all deliveries on Tuesday. (2)

(b) Calculate the total distance driven by the driver for all deliveries on Tuesday. (2)

(c) Calculate the total fuel cost for the deliveries on Tuesday. (2)

(d) Determine the driver's net profit for Tuesday (total earnings minus fuel cost). (1)

Show mark scheme
  1. (a) Calculate the total amount earned from all deliveries on Tuesday.

    • Method: Correct calculation setup for earnings from deliveries.
      E.g., 15×4.20+8×6.50
      or 63+52 (1 mark)
    • Accuracy: 115
      (1 mark)
  2. (b) Calculate the total distance driven by the driver for all deliveries on Tuesday.

    • Method: Correct calculation setup for total distance.
      E.g., 15×3.5+8×7.2
      or 52.5+57.6 (1 mark)
    • Accuracy: 110.1 km
      (1 mark)
  3. (c) Calculate the total fuel cost for the deliveries on Tuesday.

    • Method: Correct calculation setup for fuel cost.
      E.g., (110.1÷12)×2.10 (using answer from (b)) (1 mark)
    • Accuracy: 19.2675 or 19.27 (2 d.p.)
      (1 mark)
  4. (d) Determine the driver's net profit for Tuesday (total earnings minus fuel cost).

    • Accuracy: Net profit = Fixed daily rate + Earnings from deliveries - Fuel cost
      Net profit = 20+11519.2675
      Net profit = 115.7325 or 115.73 (2 d.p.)
      (1 mark)

Who is the PreIB Bridging Programme for?

Students starting the IB Diploma in September who want to arrive fluent in the pre-IB skills their DP1 Maths teacher will assume they already have. Works whether you're taking SL AI, SL AA, HL AI or HL AA. €20 unlocks the full 6-week programme across all 4 streams.

How much does the PreIB Bridging Programme cost?

€20 as a one-off payment (VAT included). This unlocks the full 6-week Bridging Programme across all four IB streams — SL AI, SL AA, HL AI and HL AA — with access until 28 August 2026. No auto-renewal, no subscription.

Which PreIB stream should I choose?

Take the 15-second router quiz at the top of the page — three quick questions on your preferences, target university subject and algebra confidence route you to the best-fit stream. You can still browse all four afterwards.

What's the difference between the PreIB Bridging Programme and the upcoming PreIB Year 11 (Grade 10) Course?

The PreIB Bridging Programme (€20, live now) is a structured 6-week summer bridge — worked examples, practice questions and end-of-week self-marked assessments per week, plus a live IB-readiness bar. The PreIB Year 11 (Grade 10) Course (€49/student, launching later in 2026) will be a full-year GCSE→IB bridge — 18 topics, notes, past-paper drills, IA scaffolding preview and school-licensing options. Two separate products with separate pricing.

What's inside the Bridging Programme for each stream?

~144 items per stream (worked examples + practice + 4-question weekly assessment) across 6 weeks, plus a warm-up library of ~100 exam-style questions, ~80 flashcards and 3 diagnostic tests. All included in €20.

Can I try before I buy?

Yes — the first 5 questions of any stream are free. You can also start a 3-day free trial for full access (limited to one trial per email).

Is there a difference between AI and AA?

AI (Applications & Interpretation) leans on the Casio CG50 calculator, real-world modelling and statistics. AA (Analysis & Approaches) focuses on algebraic fluency, exact-form answers and analytical techniques. PreIB gives you a stream-tailored version of both.
