Refund policy

TL;DR: Bought a licence but haven't opened the paid content yet? Full refund within 14 days — just email us. Already used the site? We'll look at it case-by-case, but you gave up the automatic right to withdraw the moment you accessed the paid content (this is the standard UK rule for digital goods).

1. What refunds you're entitled to

Under the UK Consumer Contracts (Information, Cancellation and Additional Charges) Regulations 2013, you have a 14-day right of withdrawal after buying digital content — but that right ends the moment you access the content.

Here's how that plays out in plain English:

You accessed the paid content but the site was broken for you (e.g. AI grading down, questions won't load, PDFs 404). Yes — full refund if we can't fix it in 5 working days. 30 days from purchase.
You bought the wrong course by mistake (e.g. SL AA when you needed SL AI). Yes — we swap you to the correct course at no extra cost. 7 days from purchase.
You changed your mind after using the paid content. Generally no — you waived the automatic right to withdraw when you accessed the content.
Duplicate charge on your card (you accidentally bought twice). Yes — full refund of the duplicate. Anytime.
You bought the Pre-IB course and it's now past 28 August. No — the summer window is disclosed on the checkout page.
You bought €5 AI IA Feedback credits and haven't used any. Yes — full refund. 14 days from purchase.
You bought €5 AI IA Feedback credits and used at least one. Generally no — you've consumed the digital service. Unused credits from a multi-pack can be refunded pro-rata.
You booked the €100 Examiner IA Review and haven't uploaded your draft yet. Yes — full refund minus a €5 admin fee. Any time before you upload a draft.
You uploaded your draft for the €100 Examiner IA Review but Pete hasn't started marking. Yes — 50% refund (the other 50% covers the reserved marking slot). Until Pete emails "I'm starting your review".
Pete has delivered the written feedback and/or held the 20-minute video meeting for the €100 tier. No — the service has been delivered.
Your school licence: cohort didn't sign up, students didn't use it, or budget got pulled. Pro-rata refund based on unused seats / months. 60 days from purchase.

2. Why "accessed" matters

UK/EU consumer law lets sellers of digital content ask the buyer to expressly waive the 14-day cancellation right in exchange for instant access. On our checkout page you tick a box confirming:

  1. You want the content delivered immediately, and
  2. You understand you lose the automatic right to cancel once you access it.

This is the same rule Netflix, Kindle, Steam, Apple, Audible and every other digital-content seller in the UK/EU relies on. "Accessed" means signing into the paid area and loading at least one gated question, PDF or worked solution.

3. How to request a refund

Email pbromfield@ibmathrevision.com with:

We'll reply within 3 working days with either a refund confirmation or a specific explanation of why not.

4. When you'll see the money back

Refunds are processed through the original payment method via Stripe. Typical timings:

We don't charge a processing fee for refunds. Your card issuer's FX rate may differ slightly between the original purchase and the refund — that's a currency thing, not something we control.

5. Chargebacks & card disputes

Please email us first before filing a chargeback with your card issuer. Chargebacks cost us a €20 fee regardless of outcome, and if we can resolve it directly it's faster for both of us. Filing a chargeback that we successfully rebut may result in your account being closed.

6. School / bulk licence refunds

School licences are governed by our separate Data Processing Agreement (available on request) and the invoice / purchase order between us. Refund terms are pro-rata based on unused seats and unused months. Contact pbromfield@ibmathrevision.com for a calculation.
