How to use IB Math Revision

👋 New here? Start here (2-min tour)

Everything you need to get real value from the site in your first sitting.

1. Pick your course + unit. From the home page pick SL AA / SL AI / HL AA / HL AI, then a unit (1 = Number & Algebra … 5 = Calculus). Try a 5-question sprint — no sign-up required for the free preview.
2. Sign in (free trial or subscription). Sign-in unlocks unlimited practice, saves your streak across devices, and lets your teacher see your mastery heatmap.
3. Turn on the Daily Question. Go to Email preferences, pick your time + weekdays. You'll get one question a day — build a streak, don't break the chain.
4. Bookmark your signed-in home. The More tools drawer holds every AI tool (IA Modelling Planner, AI IA Feedback, Grade predictor, Diagnose working, TOK links) + community features (live game, Jeopardy, blog).
5. Working on your IA? Start on the Modelling Planner for scoping + paragraph feedback, then hand your draft to the full AI IA Review when you're ready for the /20 grade.
6. Stuck on a mark scheme step? Click any working line in a mark scheme and hit "Explain this step" — Gemini will paraphrase it in plain English.

Get from "just signed up" to running a lesson tomorrow.

1. Create your first class code. On the Teacher dashboard hit + Create a new class. Share the code (or the join link) with your students.
2. Onboard students in bulk. Paste a CSV of student emails into the onboarding banner — everyone gets a welcome email + auto-join.
3. Set your first homework. Use the Assign work tile on /teach.html. Students see it on their My Tasks page + get an email.
4. Run a live-game warm-up. Open /game.html, project the code, students join from their phones.
5. ManageBac school? Everything you need is at /managebac.html — copy-paste unit plans, one-click assignment PDF packs, grade CSVs, and per-activity rubrics.
6. Track how the class is doing. Come back to the Teacher dashboard for the mastery heatmap, mark book, help requests, most-flagged questions, and the Report Writer (auto-drafts parents'-evening one-pagers).

🧭 Use the IA Modelling Planner

From blank page to a submitted Modelling IA in six steps, with per-paragraph AI feedback along the way.

1. Go to /ia-modelling-planner.html (or the tile on your signed-in home).
2. Fill in the scoping plan (Step 0): topic interest, title, aim, data, tech, maths — as many of the 11 boxes as you can.
3. Hit “🎯 Check my plan” — Gemini grades your plan against the IB planning bands (A–E, 0-3 each) and lists what to sharpen.
4. Optional shortcut: hit “✨ Seed my Criterion A draft” to turn your scoping answers into a starter intro paragraph.
5. Draft Criterion A, then hit “Get Gemini feedback” to get band-referenced pointers.
6. Repeat for C + D and E. Watch the progress bar climb as each pill turns green.
7. When you're happy, click “🎓 Send to full AI IA Review” — the whole draft transfers to the 5-criteria review page for a final /20 grade.

🎓 Get AI feedback on your full IA draft

A 60-second review of the whole IA against all five IB criteria (A–E, /20).

1. Sign in and open /ia-feedback.html.
2. Pick your course (SL AA / SL AI / HL AA / HL AI).
3. Either drop a PDF/DOCX of your draft into the upload area OR paste at least 500 characters of text.
4. Add a one-line topic hint (optional, boosts accuracy).
5. Click “Grade my IA →”. Wait 30–60 seconds.
6. Read the per-criterion breakdown, the three top strengths and the three top priorities.

🎓 Track your IGCSE progress + tick off homework (self-RAG)

Mark every sub-topic 🔴 Red / 🟠 Amber / 🟢 Green so you know what to revise next, and get your teacher's weekly homework in the same place.

1. Sign in and open /igcse.html. Signing in matters — your marks then sync across devices and your teacher can see them.
2. Read the "🔔 Notes from your teacher" strip at the top. That's what to revise first this week (with any lesson attachments).
3. Check the "📝 This week's homework" panel. Each task shows either 🔁 Recap (drawn from your weakest sub-topics) or 🆕 New (from the topic you covered in class). A colour chip tells you when it's due (📅 green = plenty of time, 🟠 amber = due today, 🔴 red = overdue).
4. Tap "Try this question" on a task to see a primer + practice question. Attempt it in your book, then reveal the mark scheme.
5. Add a photo of your working. If your teacher enabled uploads, each task has three ways to send it (works on phone and Chromebook / desktop):
   • 📷 Camera — opens your phone's rear camera or your Chromebook / laptop webcam.
   • 📁 Choose file — pick a photo already saved in Files, Google Drive or your Downloads folder.
   • 🖱️ Drag & drop a photo onto the dashed box, or click into it and press Ctrl+V to paste a screenshot.
   Whichever route you use, the task auto-ticks as done when the upload finishes. Tap Replace photo to swap it for a better shot.
6. Can't do it right now? Tap 🔔 Remind me later and pick one of the four presets:
   • ⏰ In 2 hours — good for "let me finish lunch first".
   • 🌆 Tonight 19:00 — for the after-school study block.
   • 🌅 Tomorrow 08:00 — first thing in the morning.
   • ⏳ 2 hours before deadline — automatic panic-preventer.
   You'll get an email (and a push notification if you've opted in) at that time with a direct link back to this task.
7. Set your own RAG on every sub-topic. Scroll to the 5 units and click R / A / G as your confidence changes.
8. Log a self-mark (0-3) too from the dropdown next to each sub-topic — that's what your teacher's dashboard rank-orders on.
9. Check for the 🔒 override badge. When your teacher marks a sub-topic themselves, their score locks over yours — that's your next revision target.
10. Hit ⬇ Download my RAG (CSV) at any time to keep a record for revision or parents' evening.

🎯 Practice a unit (5-question sprint)

1. From the home page, pick your course (SL AA / SL AI / HL AA / HL AI).
2. Pick a unit (1 = Number & Algebra … 5 = Calculus).
3. Optionally tick which sub-topics you want (or "Select all combined").
4. Turn on “Weight toward weak topics” if you want the engine to focus on your gaps.
5. Pick difficulty (Standard / Intermediate / Examination) and how many questions (5 / 10 / 20).
6. Hit Start practice →. Type each answer, then reveal the mark scheme.

🧠 Use the TOK connection on a question

1. While practising any unit, look under each question for a small “🧠 TOK connection” chip.
2. Click it — a panel expands with 1–2 ready-made TOK-style probes tied to the maths in that question.
3. Use them for TOK essay planning or class discussion warm-ups.

🔥 Keep a daily-question streak

1. Turn on the Daily Question email at /my-preferences.html (pick your time + weekdays).
2. Open the daily question, answer it, mark it — the streak counter ticks over.
3. Miss a day? You get a 36-hour grace period before the streak resets.

📅 Build a personal study plan

1. Open /study-planner.html.
2. Set your exam date (or mock date).
3. Tick the topics you feel weakest on — the planner slots them earlier in the schedule.
4. Hit Generate plan. Save or print it.

📋 Copy a unit plan into ManageBac

Grab a ManageBac-ready unit-plan markdown that covers all 19 DP planner subcategories.

1. Sign in on IB Math Revision (any teacher account).
2. Go to /managebac.html. Filter by course (SL AA / SL AI / HL AA / HL AI).
3. Find the unit card. Hit “📄 Copy overview”.
4. Open the ManageBac unit in the DP unit planner. Paste into the description / long-form field.
5. Trim any section you don't use. Save.

📚 Copy a single lesson block

1. Open any unit page (e.g. SLAA Unit 1) while signed in as a teacher.
2. Click the floating 📋 Copy for ManageBac button (bottom-right).
3. Under “Or copy one sub-topic”, click the sub-topic you're teaching (e.g. L3 Sigma notation).
4. In ManageBac's lesson editor, paste. You get a lesson title, learning objective, success criteria, ATL skills, LP attributes, differentiation and a resource link.

📦 Build an assignment PDF pack (ZIP)

One click zips a ManageBac-ready brief, print-ready questions, markscheme and a step-by-step attach guide.

1. Go to /downloads.html and scroll to Your saved worksheets & tests.
2. Find your worksheet. Hit “📦 ManageBac pack”. Wait 3–5 seconds while the ZIP builds.
3. In ManageBac, create/open the assignment.
4. Open brief.md from the ZIP and paste it into the assignment description.
5. Attach questions.html to the assignment (visible to students).
6. Attach markscheme.html to the Teacher files section (hidden from students).
7. Save and publish.

📝 Copy a ManageBac brief for an assignment

1. Go to /teacher-dashboard.html, scroll to the Homework Mark Book.
2. Each assignment column header shows a green “📋 Copy brief” pill. Click it.
3. Paste into ManageBac's assignment description. You'll get title, aim, tasks, ATL skills, and a link to online practice.

⬇ Export grades to ManageBac (CSV)

1. Go to the Homework Mark Book.
2. Wait for the grid to load your assignments + students.
3. Hit ⬇ ManageBac CSV. One CSV is downloaded per assignment (ManageBac imports one assignment at a time).
4. In ManageBac: Assignments → open the assignment → Import grades → drop the matching CSV.

🎯 Download a ManageBac rubric for a classroom activity

1. On /managebac.html, scroll to Rubric library.
2. Pick the activity type (Treasure hunt / Bingo / Escape room / Generic).
3. Hit “📥 Download rubric CSV”.
4. In ManageBac: Rubrics → Import → drop the CSV. Reuse the rubric across every session.

🎓 Run the IGCSE tracker end-to-end (updates + marks + weekly homework)

One page owns the whole class: log this week's topics, mark every student, then publish personalised homework — 50% recap on their weakest sub-topics, 50% on what you just taught.

1. Open the tracker from the teacher dashboard: ⚡ Assign work · one click → 📚 IGCSE tracker (or /igcse-tracker.html).
2. Log this week's topics. Under This week: pick the date, tick every sub-topic you covered (chips already green = covered in the last 14 days). Paste a Drive/OneDrive URL to your worksheet + a note to students, then hit Save this week's update. It appears at the top of every student's /igcse.html feed instantly.
3. Add your class. Under Student marks: either pick an existing licence from 📚 Load from an existing class and hit Add all to my roster, or type each email + hit + Add student. The roster persists — you never have to re-add anyone.
4. Mark each student per sub-topic. Click any cell in the heatmap and pick 0-3 (0 = not yet, 1 = amber, 2 = solid, 3 = mastered). Your mark auto-locks the student's self-RAG with a 🔒 badge on their side.
5. Spot mismatches. Bright-orange bordered cells = your mark disagrees with the student's self-RAG. Those are the coaching conversations to have this week.
6. Generate personalised homework. Scroll to the 📝 This week's homework card, pick a due date (defaults to next Friday), a size (4 / 6 / 8 tasks), and whether students must upload photo working.
7. Hit 🔍 Generate preview. Every student gets a personalised list: 50% recap (their own weakest topics — differs per student) + 50% new content from the sub-topics you ticked this week.
8. Sanity-check, then hit 🚀 Publish to students. They immediately see it on /igcse.html with a due-date chip and the upload flow.
9. Mark their uploads. Back on the teacher dashboard, the 📥 Homework to mark pill in the Quick Assign widget shows the pending count. Click it to open the Marking Inbox and grade in a flat feed. Students can send working three ways (📷 Camera, 📁 Choose file, or 🖱️ Drag & drop) so you'll see photos from phones, Chromebooks and desktops alike.

📝 Auto-generate personalised DP weekly homework

50% recap (each student's weakest DP sub-topics) + 50% new content (what you're teaching this week). Nothing goes to students until you click Publish.

1. Open the generator from the teacher dashboard: ⚡ Assign work · one click → 📝 DP weekly · auto-personalise (or /dp-homework.html).
2. Pick your course (SL AA / SL AI / HL AA / HL AI) and the week's date.
3. Tick sub-topics. Chips are grouped by unit; tick everything you covered this week — that's the "new content" pool.
4. Set the due date. Defaults to next Friday; adjust to suit your class.
5. Add your class. Pick an existing licence from 📚 Load from an existing class and hit Load emails to bulk-fill the roster in one click, or paste emails manually. Hit Save class list to persist.
6. Pick 4 / 6 / 8 tasks per student and decide whether students must upload photo working (on by default).
7. Hit 🔍 Generate preview. The tool reads each student's mastery from paid_users.progress and picks their personal weakest topics for the recap half.
8. Sanity-check the preview, then hit 🚀 Publish to students. Every student sees a green banner at the top of every unit page next time they load one, with tick-off checkboxes, the due-date chip, and the camera upload button.
9. Track submissions on the Homework Mark Book (teacher dashboard, scroll down) and grade uploads via the 📥 Homework to mark pill. Students send their working three ways — 📷 Camera, 📁 Choose file, or 🖱️ Drag & drop — so phone photos, Chromebook webcam shots and pasted screenshots all land in the same inbox.

📝 See + tick off your personalised DP homework

1. Sign in and open any unit page you're studying (e.g. SL AA Unit 1). If your teacher has published homework, a green banner appears near the top.
2. Read the due-date chip. 📅 green = plenty of time · 🟠 amber = due today · 🔴 red = overdue.
3. Do the work. Each task is either 🔁 recap (a topic you're weakest on) or 🆕 new (what you covered this week). Attempt the matching questions on the same unit page.
4. Add a photo of your working — camera OR file OR drag & drop.
   • 📷 Camera: phone rear camera on iOS/Android, or laptop / Chromebook webcam.
   • 📁 Choose file: pick a saved photo or a scanned PDF-to-image.
   • 🖱️ Drag & drop onto the dashed box, or click inside and Ctrl+V to paste a screenshot (useful on Chromebooks — Shift+Ctrl+Show-Windows takes a screenshot, then paste it here).
   The task auto-ticks as done when the upload finishes.
5. Can't do it now? Tap 🔔 Remind me later and pick In 2 hours, Tonight 19:00, Tomorrow 08:00, or 2 hours before deadline. You'll get an email (+ push notification if enabled) at that time linking straight back to this task.
6. Watch the progress line "3/6 done" update after every tick. Your teacher sees the same count in real time on their dashboard.

🏠 Set homework in one click

1. On /teacher-dashboard.html, use the Classroom activities tile or the Assign work tile on /teach.html.
2. Pick the class code, unit and question count.
3. Optionally schedule publishAt (drops into students' inboxes later that day/week).
4. Hit Send to class. Every student in that class gets an email + a task on their My Tasks page.

🎮 Run a live-game warm-up in class

1. Open /game.html. Pick unit + topics.
2. Project the game code on the board.
3. Students go to /game.html on their phones and enter the code.
4. Hit Start. Live leaderboard on your screen.

🎲 Print a treasure-hunt / bingo / dominoes activity

1. Open /activities.html.
2. Pick course, unit, difficulty and activity mode.
3. Hit Generate. Preview the questions.
4. Print (A4). Cut, laminate if you want it to survive Y11.

📚 Read the Homework Mark Book

1. On /teacher-dashboard.html#markbook, wait for the grid to render.
2. Rows = students. Columns = assignments. Cells are colour-coded (green ≥70%, amber 40–69%, red < 40%).
3. Click any cell to open the override modal — set a manual grade, add a note, view uploaded work.
4. Click 📊 Breakdown in a column header for a per-question breakdown across the whole class.
5. Use the CSV / ManageBac CSV buttons to export.

🧠 Auto-draft parents'-evening reports

1. Open /teacher-dashboard.html and scroll to 🧠 Report-Writing Help at the top.
2. Pick a student from the dropdown. Hit Generate.
3. AI drafts strengths, struggling topics and 2–3 next actions. Edit, then copy or print the one-pager.

📥 Find a worksheet you built last term

1. Open /downloads.html. The Your saved worksheets & tests section lists everything you (or your school) has built.
2. Toggle scope between Mine and Whole school.
3. Hit Questions PDF, Answers PDF, or 📦 ManageBac pack depending on what you need.
