SL students sit Paper 1 and Paper 2 (1 hour 30 minutes each, 40% each). HL students sit Paper 1 and Paper 2 (2 hours each, 30% each) and Paper 3 (1 hour 15 minutes, 20%). The exploration (internal assessment) is worth 20% at both levels.
Technology means a graphic display calculator (GDC). In AA, Paper 1 is no technology allowed; Paper 2 and HL Paper 3 are technology allowed. In AI, every paper is technology allowed, including Paper 1. A copy of the formula booklet is provided in every paper.
