IB Maths results day: what next?
Whatever your grade, there is a next step. This page sets out the options in plain English and links the board’s own pages for anything official. We do not show results dates, fees or deadlines unless we have checked them on the board’s site.
First steps
Talk to your IB coordinator first, and early. They know how and by when to ask the IB for anything after results.
When is results day?
The IB releases May session results from 12:00 GMT on 6 July. The 2027 date has not been published yet. Source: IB: getting results. See exam dates for every date we have checked.
A mark looks wrong: re-marks
If you were close to a grade boundary, or one paper looks far below your others, ask whether a re-mark is worth it. Marks can go down as well as up. Fees and deadlines are set by the board and change, so read them on the board’s own pages:
Resits
The IB runs a November exam session as well as May (the November 2026 dates are on our exam dates page). Whether you can resit, and when, depends on your school: ask your coordinator.
Plan a resit like a fresh start: go through your mistakes, then follow a mock plan from the exam season page.
What next
- University maths: personal statement and interviews (our A Level site)
- Where next after school maths competitions
- IB Maths HL or SL?
- IB Maths AA or AI?
