The IB sets grade boundaries for every subject, level and session after marking, and releases them to schools in its subject reports. There is no public official table, and we don't publish numbers we can't verify. Here is how they work, where to get the official ones, and how to estimate your grade.
Where the official boundaries are
- Your teacher or IB coordinator. The boundaries for each session are in the subject reports on the IB's Programme Resource Centre, which schools can access.

How your 1 to 7 is worked out
Your final grade comes from a weighted total of the exam papers and the internal assessment (the exploration). The boundaries are set on that weighted total, separately for each course, level and session.

A harder session gets lower boundaries, so a mark that was a 6 in one session can be a 7 in another.

Where can I see IB Math grade boundaries?
The IB releases them to schools in the subject reports after each session. Ask your teacher or IB coordinator for the latest ones.
Are IB grade boundaries the same for AA and AI?
No. They are set separately for each course (AA or AI), each level (SL or HL) and each session.
Does the IA count towards the boundaries?
Yes. The internal assessment is 20% of the final grade in every IB Math course, and the boundaries apply to the weighted total of the papers and the IA.
Why don't you list the numbers?
The official boundaries are not published as a public web page, and figures copied around the internet often don't match. We would rather send you to the official source than quote numbers we can't check.
