Plan your IB Maths IA

Three steps: an individual plan to agree with your teacher, a section-by-section framework for your type of exploration, and a timeline with your teacher checkpoints. Everything saves to your IA project (in this browser if you are not signed in). — Pete Bromfield, IB examiner

⚠ This is coaching, not content for your IA. The coach asks questions; it never writes your plan or your IA. Sentence openings in the frameworks show the kind of move a section needs — finish them in your own words, about your own work. Submitting anything written by a tool or another person as your own is academic misconduct under the IB's Academic Integrity Policy, and in serious cases can mean not being awarded your Diploma. That's the point of a coach rather than a chatbot: it can't get you in trouble, because it never writes the thing you'd have to explain. How to use help and AI honestly.

1. Individual plan

Answer in a sentence or two each. Then export it and take it to your first teacher meeting.

Student: ______________________   Teacher: ______________________   Date: ____________

2. Section-by-section framework

Pick the type closest to your exploration. Use the notes boxes for your own bullet points; tick a section when your draft covers it.

3. Milestones and teacher checkpoints

Enter your school's internal deadline and we work backwards. Change any date to match your school's calendar. Your teacher gives feedback on one draft, so make that draft complete.

4. Process journal

A dated log of how your IA grew: drafts, data, models, graphs and teacher meetings. Dates are set by our server and entries can't be edited, so the journal is evidence the work is yours. Drafts you send for AI feedback and models you save in Model my data are added for you.
