How to reset your calculator before an exam

fx-CG50: MENU → System → RESET → MAIN → Yes.TI-84 Plus CE: 2nd mem → 7: Reset → All Memory → Reset.

In IB exams the exam mode does the locking (see exam mode). A reset is for when you want a clean calculator: before a mock, or when old lists and settings give strange answers. It deletes what you have stored, so copy anything you need first.

Reset, calculator by calculator

Pick your calculator: the page remembers it next time.

How do I reset the fx-CG50?

  1. Press MENU and open System.
  2. Choose RESET on the function-key row.
  3. Choose MAIN (the main memory) and confirm with Yes, then press EXIT.

Casio: a reset deletes the data in that memory (your lists, matrices, variables and programs) and puts the settings back to their defaults. Back up anything you want to keep first.

Casio's System → RESET screen has other choices (such as the setup only). The function-key numbers depend on the OS, so read the labels on the screen. In IB Examination Mode the memory is locked anyway.

After a reset
