The problem PreIB solves
Every IB coordinator I know sees the same pattern in October of DP1: bright students who cruised through IGCSE hit a wall when the DP maths starts asking for rigour. The gap between "get the right answer" and "show the method that earns each mark" is the fault line.
The PreIB course is a €20 bridge across that gap. Six-ish weeks of summer prep between IGCSE / MYP finishing and DP1 starting.

When it's worth €20
If your child got an A or A* at IGCSE and is going into DP1 in September, the PreIB course will meaningfully close the "rigour gap" before their new teacher notices it. If your child got a B or C at IGCSE and is going into SL AI, it's arguably essential — SL AI is still a jump.
When it's not worth buying
If your child is already comfortably doing DP1 practice questions in July, they don't need it. If they're actively refusing to touch maths over summer, we're not going to change that — save your €20 and revisit in October.
Common parent question
Does the PreIB course guarantee my child a 7 in DP? No — nothing does. It compresses six weeks of foundation-work into an accessible summer format. What happens in September is still on the school, the teacher, and the student.
